Golden Duke was born on April 10th 2019 at Tally-Ho Stud, Ireland. We picked him up from the Craven Breeze up sale in Newmarket as a two-year-old after posting a very good time but also looking like a horse who had plenty of potential. We decided to send him to Malton-based trainer, Nigel Tinkler. It was on his 5th run he broke his maiden tag when winning easily at Kempton as a two-year-old. As a three-year-old his day in the sun came at Leicester on the 23rd of June when he surged late to beat HM The Queen’s horse, Distant Light, on the line, he also managed to be runner-up on four occasions as a three-year-old. As a four-year-old his big day came at Doncaster when he came from last to first to win at the odds of 33/1. He’s a horse who enjoys racing towards the back of the pack before he surges to run on at the end. He’s a very likeable horse with a good amount of ability to give his owners some great days at the races.
